When & Where

The 2023 National Conference will begin on Friday, October 20 and conclude on Tuesday, October 24.  

The 2023 National Conference is taking place at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. For all conference and event locations please visit our Conference & Event Location page.

Registration Information

All-access attendees will be joining us in Washington, DC while virtual-only attendees will be joining online! Please visit our Conference Registration page for a comparison of the two registration types.

You may contact registration by calling 1-800-433-9016, option 3, to register for additional sessions/events or to add family to an existing registration. 

Family registration is $25 per guest and allows access to Special Events, the Exhibit Hall, and Plenary Sessions. The DC Experience! at the National Museum of African American History and Culture requires an additional fee. 

You will receive an email confirmation right after you register. If you do not receive an email confirmation, please contact registration by calling 1-800-433-9016, option 3 or send us an email.  

Your email confirmation is your receipt for payment.

No, we no longer offer a one-day registration.  We now offer Virtual-Only registration if you are unable to join us in person.  For more information visit our Conference Registration page.

Yes, you may register through October 24, 2023, either on-site at the conference or online.     

The last day to register is October 24, 2023.  

You may cancel your National Conference registration at any time until October 6, 2023, two weeks prior to the start of the conference, for a full refund of your registration fee. All registration changes/cancellations must be sent in writing to our email by October 6, 2023.  

Any changes/cancellations for ticketed events must be sent in writing to our email by October 6, 2023.

Yes, some hotels including the headquarter hotels, are very popular and usually sell out within the first day of opening. We recommend you request to be placed on a waitlist.

Call CMR at 800/468-6322 to be added to a waitlist.  It is recommended that you also reserve a hotel (online or calling) room at one of the other available AAP hotels as a backup.  Visit our Hotel Information page for more information.

Education Information

The AAP designates this Other activity (Live in-person, Internet Live and Internet Enduring) for a maximum of 74.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Virtual-only participants will have access to up to 43.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.

Diplomates of the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) may earn up to 20 ABP MOC Part 2 points for attending the 2023 National Conference and successfully completing a self-assessment. See here for details.

Attendees of the 2023 National Conference are responsible for calculating and recording their credit.  After October 25th, attendees should follow instructions noted here.

Conference Platform/App

Visit the Conference Platform! Additional items will be added as the conference approaches.

A selection of education sessions (approx. 45 sessions) will be livestreamed and recorded. All attendees will have access to these session recordings through January 31, 2024.  

A ticketed session is a session that requires pre-registration when signing up for the 2023 National Conference.  

If faculty provided slides for attendees, registered attendees can access by logging into the Conference Platform or Conference App to access. Virtual-only attendees will have access to all session slides, not just the sessions that are being livestreamed.  

Exhibit Hall Information

Exhibit Hall hours are as follows:

10:00am – 2:00pm 

Lunch break and concessions open daily in the restaurant during Exhibit Hall hours.

Product Theaters are non-CME educational presentations from exhibiting companies during the conference. Learn about the hottest pediatric medical advancements and treatments available today. Product Theaters are not designated for CME credit.

Additional presentations will be offered in the theaters with topics including technology tips and health & wellness.

Saturday: 3:00 – 3:30pm
Sunday: 10:00 – 10:30am and 3:00 – 3:30pm
Monday: 10:00 – 10:30am

The Exhibits Scavenger Hunt is available to all in-person conference attendees and is a great way to connect with National Conference Exhibitors. Saturday through Monday in the Exhibit Hall, look for QR codes posted in participating Exhibitor Booths and scan them with the National Conference app to answer an exhibitor’s question. Correct answers will earn points and a chance to move up the leaderboard!

4 attendees will win either an iPad or complimentary registration for the 2024 AAP National Conference & Exhibition!

Find the AAP Resource Center in the Exhibit Hall – Booth 1541

Meet with and receive your personally-autographed AAP publication from renowned authors and editors, visit a board-certified internist from the Section on Med-Peds for a personal preventive service consultation, share your book ideas with the AAP Publishing staff, see the hottest products and gadgets and take a skills challenge from Global Child Health and Life Support. AAP leaders and staff will be on hand to answer questions about AAP products, services, and programs and discuss how you can become more involved at the AAP. 

Book signings will take place in the AAP Resource Center on Saturday and Sunday from 12:15 – 2:00pm.
