Purpose of the National Conference
The National Conference & Exhibition is dedicated to keeping pediatric providers abreast of the latest best practices in pediatrics. Whether attendees are looking to obtain continuing medical education (CME) credits or dedicated to lifelong learning, this conference provides a large selection of pediatric educational opportunities.

Goals and Objectives
The National Conference & Exhibition strives to meet participants’ identified educational needs and support their life-long learning with a goal of improving care for children and families. The AAP is committed to excellence and innovation in education. The AAP National Conference is the forum at which pediatric professionals meet and interact for updates, review of pediatric practice, research, and advocacy. The National Conference provides a place for the AAP governance/administration/organization to interact with its general membership.

The instruction (learning experience) in this activity will:
- Provide the most current information related to illness and preventive healthcare of prenatal, neonatal, infants, children, adolescents, and young adults.
- Create a forum for discussion of current issues and problems in pediatric healthcare.
- Instruct attendees on procedures related to patient health management.
- Inform, enable and update on practice management and policy.
- Support and train attendees in advocacy of issues related to child health.
- Highlight the importance of physician self-care and wellness and their impact on patient care
As a result of attending this activity, learners will be able to:
- Practice evidence-based, informed pediatric medicine.
- Apply current techniques and procedures.
- Advocate effectively for issues related to children’s health.
- Demonstrate improvement in competence, performance or patient outcomes.

Credit Designation Statements
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
The AAP designates this Other activity (internet live and enduring) for a maximum of 41.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
This activity is acceptable for a maximum of 41.25 AAP credits. These credits can be applied toward the AAP CME/CPD Award available to Fellows and Candidate Members of the AAP.
PAs may claim a maximum of 41.25 Category 1 credits for completing this activity. NCCPA accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society.
This program is accredited for 41.25 NAPNAP CE contact hours of which 6.0 contain pharmacology (Rx) content, (1.25 related to psychopharmacology) (3.0 related to controlled substances), per the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) Continuing Education Guidelines.
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the learner to earn up to 20.0 MOC points in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABP MOC credit.

The AAP CME/CPD program develops, maintains, and improves the competence, skills, and professional performance of pediatricians and pediatric healthcare professionals by providing quality, relevant, accessible, and effective educational experiences that address gaps in professional practice. The AAP recognizes that there are a variety of financial relationships between individuals and commercial interests that require review to identify possible conflicts of interest in a CME activity. The “AAP Policy on Disclosure of Financial Relationships and Resolution of Conflicts of Interest for AAP CME Activities” is designed to ensure quality, objective, balanced, and scientifically rigorous AAP CME activities by identifying and resolving all potential conflicts of interest prior to the confirmation of service of those in a position to influence and/or control CME content. The AAP has taken steps to resolve any potential conflicts of interest.
All AAP CME activities will strictly adhere to the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) Standards for Commercial Support: Standards to Ensure the Independence of CME Activities. In accordance with these Standards, the following decisions will be made free of the control of a commercial interest: identification of CME needs, determination of educational objectives, selection and presentation of content, selection of all persons and organizations that will be in a position to control the content, selection of educational methods, and evaluation of the CME activity.
The purpose of this policy is to ensure all potential conflicts of interest are identified and mechanisms to resolve them prior to the CME activity are implemented in ways that are consistent with the public good. The AAP is committed to providing learners with commercially unbiased CME activities.

Method of Participation and Minimum Performance Level
Individuals will participate in this activity via an internet connection. Participants must access the virtual conference portal, attending or viewing at least one live and/or on-demand session, at least once prior to January 31, 2021 to be eligible to claim credit. Following at least one access of the virtual conference portal, participants will be able to claim their credit and print a certificate. Because credit can only be claimed once, please do not claim credit until you have completed all live and/or on-demand sessions in which you plan to participate.
Individuals can participate in the activity via live internet sessions and/or recorded on-demand sessions at a time they choose until January 31, 2021. Scheduled live sessions will be recorded and made available after the conference to all attendees. On-demand content will be available beginning Friday, October 2. All sessions must be completed by January 31, 2021. Handouts and session recordings will be posted in the Conference Schedule through January 31, 2021.
